ABOUT US

Building environmental peace from the heart of the Colombian Massif

EPINER, “Building Environmental Peace to Improve Nutrition and Reduce Emissions”, is a project by the Low-Emissions Landscapes (LELS) team, together with the Biofortificados team; the Performance, Innovation and Strategic Analysis for Impact team; and the Food Environment and Consumer Behaviour team from Alliance Biodiversity International & CIAT. This project works in territories of the Colombian Massif —Cauca and Putumayo—to demonstrate that environmental action and peacebuilding can move forward together.

Why EPINER?

In the Colombian Massif, where natural and cultural diversity coexist with historical challenges, EPINER works alongside local communities, institutions and organizations to demonstrate that environmental protection, good nutrition and peacebuilding can move forward together.

Our approach unites science, local knowledge, and community participation to create solutions that strengthen ecosystems, improve family nutrition, and promote more cooperative relationships in territories affected by the armed conflict, and inequality.
